Julia and I went to Wootton Church – In the evening we went to St Thomas’s Church in Newport. Mr. Connor a very instructive sermon about Paul and his conversion; we arrived home about 9 o’clock.

Julia and I went to Wootton Church, Mr. Scott preached from the 26th verse of the 32nd Chapter of Deuteronomy. In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Tharle and Mr. George Cooper went to Rookley. Mr. A. Cooper’s little son was christened this afternoon.
In the evening Julia and I went to Littletown Chapel, Mr. Moody preached a very edifying sermon from the words “I am the way, the truth and the life”. Mr George Moody Jun. and Mr. Withington accompanied us home, we sang and played the flutine till 10 o’clock. We then supped, after which our gentlemen friends departed to their separate homes, and we retired to rest.

I and Julia with Mr and Mrs Moore went to Wootton Church.
In the afternoon I read.
In the evening as no friend called in to see us we retired to rest about 1/2 past 9 o’clock.

Day of Circumsision
I went to Wootton Church Mr. Scot preached from the 90th Psalm and 12 verse. I spent a very happy day.
Sunday 27th December 1857
Julia went to Whippingham Church with Mr and Mrs Moore I went to Wootton Church. In the afternoon Julia and I went as far as Binstead Church. We went by Quarr Abbey and home by Quarr Hill. It was a very beautiful walk. On our return we met Mr. W C L and his friend. We was very tired when we arrived home. About 8 o’clock I retired to rest.

Christmas Day
Mr. Moore and Miss Ann Pittis was married at Wootton Church. Julia was bridesmaid she breakfasted at Mr. Pittis at about 7 o’clock, they left Wootton at about 8 o’clock and proceeded to church after the ceremony was concluded – they went to Shanklin. It was lovely weather. They returned about 1/2 past 4 o’clock. Dined about 5 o’clock.
In the evening Mr J Alford called in – about 8 o’clock Mr. G. C. Miss Brading and Miss Ann Cooper called to see us, they left about 1/4 to 10 o’clock. I went part of the way home with them it was a glorious moonlight night. When I returned I found Julia had arrived also Mr Pittis and Mr and Mrs Moore and Mr James Pittis so that we had for a short time quite a merry little party, they left about 11 o’clock.

I and Julia went to Church.
In the afternoon I went to Chapel. Julia went for a walk, Mr G.C. drank tea with us.

I and Julia went to Wootton Church, Mr Scot preached from the 1st Chapter of C.
In the afternoon Julia went for a walk.
In the evening Mr G.C. drank tea with us. I spent a very pleasant evening.
Sunday 29th November 1857
I and Julia went to Wootton Church. In the afternoon Julia expected Miss J. Rolf to drink tea with us, they went part of the way to meet her, but was disappointed as she did not come. I went to Wootton Church. Grandma had an attack of the spasms.
In the evening Mr G.C. and Mr J.C. called for us to go a walk, we went nearly to Combley and met Mr And Mrs Tharle when we returned. I enjoyed the walk very much – Grandma better.
Sunday 22nd November 1857
Julia and I went to Wootton Church, the bride and bridegroom was there.
In the afternoon Julia drank tea at Mr Brading’s and then went to the Free Wesleyan Chapel. Miss Alice Cooper drank tea with us.
