I went to Wootton Church, saw Miss Ann Cooper. In the afternoon Cousin William and Mr. Trotter drank tea with us, after tea Cousin William and his friend, and Julia went into Newport church. They arrived home about 9 o’clock.

Weather very snowy. In the afternoon I went to Newport.
Mr. C. Pike informed us that another of Mr. Salter’s daughters, was married to a young man at Cowes about a fortnight ago.

Mr. Fredrick Pike repaired Grandma’s pigsty in the garden. In the evening we went to the post.
We heard that last evening, a gentleman was robbed in Brock Copse of 3 five pounds and a gold watch by three men one of which had a pickaxe on his shoulder.
Mother and I went to Newport, we looked at Mrs Jackman’s house on Coppins Bridge, but it was sadly out of repair.
In the afternoon we went to Wootton Church. In the evening to St. Thomas’s Church, Newport, we had a very pleasant walk home.
