Monday 30th August 1858

Last Saturday there was a Harvest Supper at Combley Farm. Mr. J..G Mr. G.C. Mrs Tharle and Miss Cooper etc went.

Sunday 29th August 1858

Julia went to Wootton Church. Grandma was taken very ill with the spasms they lasted 5 hours. Mr. Fords little baby was christened and Mrs Millers. I did not go out the whole of the day. Grandma was much easier in the evening.

Saturday 28th August 1858

I went to Newport, in the afternoon Julia walked into town. Mr. J.K. and Miss D.D. walked home with her.

I went to Newport. License day in Newport. In the evening I received an invitation from Cousin William to go to the theatre but the note was missent so I was obliged to remain at home as I did not receive it till 8 o’clock and I was to have been in Ryde by 6 […]

Grandma rather better. I went to Newport, in the evening Julia walked into Newport, rode home in Mr. Lamberts carriage. Mr. G.C. called in to see Grandma.

Grandma not able to get up.

Sunday 22nd August 1858

I went to Carisbrooke Church. I was very much pleased indeed. Julia went to Wootton Church. In the evening Julia went to Newport. Mr. W.W. D,  Mr. J.K. and Miss Dore came home with her. Grandma was very poorly.
