I went to Newport. In the evening we a party of friends to drink tea spend the evening and supper with us, we spent a real merry evening. They departed about a 1/4 to 12 o’clock.
Mother and I went to Newport. In the evening Julia and I went for a delightful walk.
Julia and I went as far as Woodside and round by Chapel Corner, we called and saw Mrs. Tharle. We arrived home by 1/2 past 5 o’clock. In the evening I did a little drawing. Mr and Mrs. Bignall returned to Freshwater.
Julia went to Whippingham Church with Mr and Mrs Moore I went to Wootton Church. In the afternoon Julia and I went as far as Binstead Church. We went by Quarr Abbey and home by Quarr Hill. It was a very beautiful walk. On our return we met Mr. W C L and his friend. […]
We saw the bandsmen pass by on their way to Niton or elsewhere – St. Helens Tea Party. Julia drank tea with Mr and Mrs Moore I was invited but could not conveniently leave until 7 o’clock.
Christmas Day Mr. Moore and Miss Ann Pittis was married at Wootton Church. Julia was bridesmaid she breakfasted at Mr. Pittis at about 7 o’clock, they left Wootton at about 8 o’clock and proceeded to church after the ceremony was concluded – they went to Shanklin. I went to Newport. In the evening Wootton Bandsman played six tunes to us. About 9 Mr. James Pittis called to see us on his return from London. Mr. Pittis Mr. Moore and Miss Ann Pittis also called in. We retired to rest about 1/2 past 10 o’clock.
Julia and I went to Newport. Miss Jane Rolf walked home with Julia. In the evening The Ryde Harmonic Society held a concert at the “Victoria Rooms” Ryde.
Mother and I went to Claybrooks Farm. In the afternoon Julia went to Newport. About 4 o’clock M.G.C. and I went to Newport. It was the anniversary of the opening of St Thomas’s Church.
