The anniversary of St Thomas’ Church celebrated by a teaparty in the national school room. About 4000 people sat down to partake of the various refreshments, after tea Mr. Connor read a Christmas Carol the interval was filled up by singing, the company departed very much pleased with their evenings amusement.

Julia went to Wootton Church. In the afternoon I went to Newport Miss D. and Miss C. came to met me. I drank tea at Mr. Dores. In the evening we went to Church Mr. Connor preached Mr.W.W.D Miss D and Mr. K. came home with me. We met Mr. R Mr. W.F.L and Mr. P on their return to Newport after calling at Grandma’s.

Julia and I went to Wootton Church – In the evening we went to St Thomas’s Church in Newport. Mr. Connor a very instructive sermon about Paul and his conversion; we arrived home about 9 o’clock.
