Julia went to Wootton Church. In the afternoon I drank tea at Mr. Dore’s. In the evening I went to St. Thomas’s Church . Mr. W.W.D walked home with me. Miss J. Rolf and Mr. F.L. Cousin William and little Annie drank tea with Grandma. Mr. J.P. called in about 9 o’clock on his return from Portsmouth.

Thursday 16th September 1858
I went to Ryde to pay Mothers account at Mr. Hearns. Annie and Emma Jane came in the van to see Grandma. I arrived home by 2 o’clock after which I went to Newport. When I came back I found Mrs Dennis, Mary Louisa and Lucy Emily and the servant, they all returned to Ryde in the van. Fernhill Harvest Supper.
Thursday 12th August 1858
The anniversary of Wootton Parsonage Sunday School. In the evening I took the dear little children home to Ryde. Mrs A. Dennis and Uncle was gone to Ventnor to bring Aunt home in a pony gig.
Wednesday 11th August 1858
Grandma better. In the evening Annie & Emma Jane and I went to a picnic at Packsfield it was a very select and agreeable party, we arrived home by 9 o’clock by our threeselves.
Sunday 1st August 1858
Julia and the two pets went to Wootton Church. In the afternoon I and Annie went to St. Peters Church at Havenstreet, met cousin William and Mr. John Krothson Artist we were very much pleased with the Rev. Mr. Kent – Mr. Simkin came a short way home with us , when we arrived at Wootton Villa we found two of Julia’s friends came to drink tea with us so we had a very agreeable party of friends assembled, after tea Julia and her friends went for a walk. Cousin William and Mr. Krothson left about 9 o’clock and Julia’s friend about ½ past 9 o’clock.
Monday 26th July 1858
I and Annie and Emma went to Shide for Grandma’s Interest money. In the afternoon Julia and Annie went to Littletown Sabbath School Anniversary Tea party. Mr. W. Cooper and Mrs. Cooper called to see Grandma on their return from Rookley.

I and Annie and Emma went to Wootton Church. In the afternoon Cousin William drank tea with us. In the evening Mr. and Mrs …… called in.
Friday 17th April 1857
I drove Annie home in the donkey cart.
Mrs Dennis arrived from Portsmouth about half passed 5 o’clock.
Tuesday 14th April 1857
In the afternoon Annie and I went to Wootton Bridge, we called at Mr. Coopers and Mrs Brading, then drank tea at Mrs Groundsells, we arrived home about quarter passed 6 o’clock.
Saturday 11th April 1857
I and Annie went to Newport in the afternoon. Miss Alford came for Julia to go to a tea party, they spent a very pleasant evening and arrived home about half past 9 o’clock.
Lady Holmes was buried.
