Julia went to Wootton Bridge for some duck eggs. In the evening Mr. G. C, Mr. G, Mrs. and Miss Lydia Cooper called in we had a little practice but it did not sound so sweet as it generally does.

Sunday 11th April 1858
Julia went to Wootton Church. In the afternoon I went Mr Spurgein preached, Mr. G. C drank tea with us. Mrs and Miss Alford and Miss Fanny Wall went to Wootton Weslyan Chapel. In the evening Mr. G. C and I went as far as Wootton Bridge for a walk it was a very pleasant evening.

Easter Sunday, I went to Wootton Church and received the sacrament In the afternoon Julia went to church. Mr. G.C and Mr. J.J.G spent the day at Bembridge.

Julia went to Newport, Miss Alford called in her fourwheel. Mr G.C. drank tea with us. In the evening Julia went to Mr. W. Hayles with the Tea and Sugar for the teaparty.
Sunday 28th March 1858
Palm Sunday, Julia went to Wootton Church. In the afternoon Mr.G.C. and I went to Ryde, we went through Quarr it was a beautiful walk.
I drank tea at Uncles about half past 6 o’clock, I went to Cousins William’s. The dear little girls sang very prettily about 8. Mr, Thrower, Cousin and I went and saw the national school rooms, it was a beautiful piece of building, we again returned to William’s about quarter to 9 o’clock. Mr. G.C. called in, we had some refreshments, after which Mr.G.C. kindly escorted me home to dear old Wootton Villa, it was a delightful moon light night, and I enjoyed my jaunt very much indeed.
Note;- March 23rd The brown hen hatched 5 chickens.
Saturday 27th March 1858
I went to Newport. In the afternoon Julia walked into town arrived home about 8 o’clock.
Tuesday 23rd March 1858
We received a letter from Mother who informed us that Mrs Jeffery departed this life last Thursday, she was a great sufferer. In the afternoon I went to Newport. In the evening Julia went for a short walk. The Ryde Sacred Harmonic Concert is held tonight at the Victoria Rooms.
Sunday 21st March 1858
I went to Wootton Church in the morning and afternoon. In the evening Julia went for a walk, Cousin William and Mrs? called to see us. We spent a very pleasant evening.
Saturday 20th March 1858
I went to Newport, bought a Laburnum tree, in the afternoon Julia walked into Newport.
