June 9th, 1857

Sunday 9th July 1857

I went to church,

In the evening Mrs Edna Prince preached at Littletown Chapel, Mrs. Tharle, Miss Alford and Mr. G. Cooper called in to see Grandma

May 17th, 1857

Sunday 17th May 1857

Mother, and Julia went to church, in the afternoon I and Julia went to church. Mr. H. Williams called to see grandma.

April 12th, 1857

Sunday 12th April 1857

William came to see grandma, Miss Alford and Miss Wall drank tea with us, William returned home about 7 o’clock.

Grandmothers birthday.

March 22nd, 1857

Sunday 22nd March 1857

Cousin William and his two little daughters came to dine with grandma, they came about half passed 10 o’clock, so we all went to Wootton church.

In the evening Mrs Dennis also a Mrs Macreedy called for  William. They left about half passed 7 o’clock, the two little girls stayed with us.

In the morning we went to Wootton church.

In the afternoon, Julia and I went over to the opening of Cowes Chapel, Mr Bailey preached. We arrived home about 6 o’clock.

Cousin William and his little girl came to drink tea with grandma, William returned home about half past 8 o’clock but his little girl remained with us.

February 1st, 1857

Sunday 1st February 1857

Cousin William drank tea with grandma. I at Mr. Groundsell’s and Julia at Farmer Alford.

I arrived home about quarter to 9 o’clock. Julia and Mr. G.C. went part of the way home with William. Mr.G.C. gave me a piece of wood for my puzzle.

Thursday 29th January 1857

Mr. Scot called to see Grandma and wished me to join the church. In the afternoon Uncle Thomas came to see us.

After tea we went as far as Quarr with him.

Grandma received a letter from Uncle John.

January 25th, 1857

Sunday 25th January 1857

Julia and I went to Wootton Church.

Mr H. Williams called to see Grandma. In the evening I and Mr. J. Y. G went for a walk.
