September 20th, 1857

Sunday 20th September 1857

Sabbath school anniversary at Littletown chapel.

In the afternoon I went to church and drank tea at Mr. Tharles, after tea Josiah and Mrs. Tharles and I took a walk as far as Littletown expecting to hear them sing “Jerusalem” but people were coming out when we arrived there.

Tuesday 8th September 1857

A very wet day. In the afternoon I went to the “Lay Preacher Union” Teaparty at Littletown and I think I can with truth assert that I have not for a very long time, spent such a really happy time as I did at the meeting.

In the evening it was really delightful, Mr. White from Newport was the Chairman.

In the evening Mrs Edna Prince preached at Littletown Chapel, Mrs. Tharle, Miss Alford and Mr. G. Cooper called in to see Grandma

I went to church. In the afternoon Julia went to Littletown and drank tea at Balams Farm. Mr G.C. called to see her.

I went to Littletown missionary meeting, it was a cheerful party and closed about 10 o’clock.

Good Friday

We saw Wootton Band pass for Newbridge Tea Party.

I and Annie went to Wootton Church. In the afternoon  we went to Littletown tea party and arrived home about 9 o’clock.
