Julia went to Wootton Church. In the afternoon Miss D.D. and Miss C.C. drank tea with us, after tea we walked into Newport Church. Mr. W.W.D came and met us. He also came home with me. Mr. F.L called to see Julia they returned to Newport about 10 o’clock

Sunday 17th October 1858
I went to Wootton Church. Julia spent the day at Cousin Williams. Mr. F.L…. and Miss J. B…. drank tea with us after when they went to meet Julia. Mr. W.W.D called to see us about 7 o’clock and about ¼ past 8 o’clock Mr….. and Miss J….. called in so for about an hour we had a very cheerful and agreeable party.

Mr. W.W.D. called to see us.
Saturday 9th October 1858
Very showery weather. In the evening Julia and I went to Newport. We arrived home about 9 o’clock. Mr. W.W.D came part of the way home with us.
Sunday 3rd October 1858
I went to Wootton Church. In the afternoon Julia went to Ryde. Mr. W.W.D drank tea with us. Julia came home in the coach after which we went for a nice walk.
Sunday 26th September 1858
Julia went to Wootton Church. In the afternoon I drank tea at Mr. Dore’s. In the evening I went to St. Thomas’s Church . Mr. W.W.D walked home with me. Miss J. Rolf and Mr. F.L. Cousin William and little Annie drank tea with Grandma. Mr. J.P. called in about 9 o’clock on his return from Portsmouth.
Tuesday 31st August 1858
I went to Newport. Mr. W.D. and Miss D. came home with me. We then went to a picnic party near Wootton Bridge. We arrived there rather to early so we went for a very pleasant walk as far as Woodside and back again we then had tea and tript on the light fantastic till dusk after which we returned to Mr. R. Cooper Farm which was fitted up for the occasion, a great many friends from Newport honoured us with their company, we arrived home by ¼ past 10 o’clock, our little picnic gave I believe general satisfaction to all who had the pleasure of going.
Sunday 22nd August 1858
I went to Carisbrooke Church. I was very much pleased indeed. Julia went to Wootton Church. In the evening Julia went to Newport. Mr. W.W. D, Mr. J.K. and Miss Dore came home with her. Grandma was very poorly.
