Tuesday 20th January 1857

The consecration of St Thoma’s’s Church Newport. Mr. G. C and Mr. J. Y. G Julia & I went we arrived home about 5 o’clock.

January 18th, 1857

Sunday 18th January 1857

Julia and I went to church. In the afternoon we went to Chapel.

In the evening Mr. G. C and Mr. J. Y. G Julia and I went to Newport Church. We arrived home about 9 o’clock.

January 16th, 1857

Friday 16th January 1857

Julia and I went to Newport arrived home 1/2 past 3 o’clock. In the evening we went to Chapel.

January 11th, 1857

Sunday 11th January 1857

Julia and I went to church, Mr. Douglas preached from the 16th Chapter of John and 23rd verse.

In the evening we went to Chapel.

January 8th, 1857

Thursday 8th January 1857

Went to Ryde with Julia’s Flutina, dinned and drank tea with Cousin William.

Spent a very pleasant day, arrived home about half past 7 o’clock.

January 4th, 1857

Sunday 4th January 1857

Julia and I went to Wootton Church. Mr Scot preached from the 21st verse of Mathew and the 18 and 19 verses.

Miss Hale And Mr J.G.G. drank tea with us. Cousin William came to see us in the evening and brought me some tunes to copy.

Julia went to chapel.

January 3rd, 1857

Saturday 3rd January 1857

Julia received a note from Miss Rolf who informed her there was two weddings at Newport this week.
