Sacrament Sunday at St Edmunds.

In the afternoon Julia and I went to church. When we returned home we found Mrs Burrows, her son and Miss Harriet Sherwood, they arrived about 3 o’clock, we spent a very pleasant evening. Julia and I went as far as “Kite Hill” home with them, it was a most pleasant walk, on our return home we saw Miss Ann Cooper who came to the top of the hill with us, where meeting her sisters and a few more friends, who had been to Ebenezer Chapel she returned homeward with them, and we pursued our journey alone. We arrived home by 9 o’clock, then read a little, played a few tunes on the concertina and then retired to rest.

I did a little gardening. In the afternoon Mother went to Newport. I sketched St. Edmunds Church at Wootton. Miss Fanny Wall called to see us.

In the evening Mr G.C. called to see us, he very kindly pointed out the imperfections of my drawing for which was very much obliged to him but I am sorry to say that I think I quite offended him towards the close of the evening.
