I went to Wootton Church and saw the remains of Mrs Sanders buried near the old pollard at the back of the church. All the family followed. In the afternoon Fanny and I went to Newport. In the evening Julia walked into Newport.

Mrs Sanders of Fernhill after a protracted illness departed this life aged 70 years. A party of Wootton Villagers went to the sheep shearing supper at Combley.
