Wootton Bridge 1857 -1859

Sunday 25th April 1958

Julia went to Wootton Church. Mrs Read took possession of a portion of our seat. In the afternoon I went to Church, rather surprised to find that Mrs Thornson also sat in our seat, when I arrived home, I am sorry to say we all felt very annoyed at the affair. Mr.G.C. and Mr.G.M. drank tea with us.

After tea Mr.G.M. went to chapel. Mr.G.C., Julia and I with the concertina took a walk in the copse. About quarter to 7 o’clock, Mr. G.C. and I went for a most delightful walk as far as the Chapel  corner, during our absence Mr.F.C.L. and Mr. J.P. called in, Julia informed me she spent a very pleasant evening, they were just gone when we arrived home.
