18th Friday, - I received a note from Mr.Dore stating that Miss Valdrett was condemned to death.
19th, - I and Mother went to Newport.
20th Sunday, - A wet morning, in the afternoon Julia read. I did a little drawing. In the evening Mr.G.C. went to Newport Church. Robert called in (as he came from Chapel) to see us, about 9’oclock. Mr.G.C. and Mr J.C. returned from Newport, we sang and played a few tunes, and I spent a very pleasant evening.
21st Monday, - Mother and I went to Claybrooks Farm. In the afternoon Julia went to Newport. About 4 o’clock M.G.C. and I went to Newport. It was the anniversary of the opening of St Thomas's Church.
