4th Wednesday - I sat down to needle work quite early this morning. In the evening Mr.G.C. called in, we had a game of fifteen two and I spent a very pleasant evening.

5th Thursday - Gunpowder Plot. In the afternoon I went to Newport. In the evening I am truly sorry to say that it was very unpleasant weather indoors, we spent the evening very different to what we did last year; not quite so merry.

6th Friday -

7th Saturday - Mother went to Ryde, I to Newport in the evening we received a note from Mother stating that Aunt Ann was very poorly and that uncle wished her to stay at Ryde for a few days. Fanny Wall went to Bonchurch to see her sister, Mr Robert Cooper went to Ventnor, at least I heard so.
