... Nodehill Chapel preach a very excellent sermon in the circus. After tea we walked to Carisbrooke Mr. Mathews showed us all over the new cemetery, after resting for a short while we returned home. Cousin William and Mr ? drank tea with Grandma, then they walked into Newport Church.
24th Monday, - Miss Wall and I went to Carisbrooke Castle about 3 o’clock it poured with rain so we got very wet indeed. In the evening we went to the circus, there was an excursion to Alum Bay, a teaparty at Littletown, Merston, St Helens etc.
25th Whit Tuesday, - I went to Newport. In the afternoon Julia walked in and drank tea with Miss Rolf. She arrived home about 9 o’clock.
