... Ryde, I called and saw Cousin William and family, they were all quite well but I am sorry to say Uncle and Aunt were both very ill, I arrived home about 5 o’clock. I then went into Newport for some bread. About half past 8 o’clock Mr.G.C. called to see us , we spent a very pleasant evening.

26th Friday, - Mr.C.Pike informed us that another of Mr.Salter’s daughters, was married to a young man at Cowes about a fortnight ago.

27th Saturday, - Weather very snowy. In the afternoon I went to Newport.

28th Sunday, - I went to Wootton Church, saw Miss Ann Cooper. In the afternoon Cousin William and Mr. Trotter drank tea with us, after tea Cousin William and his friend, and Julia went into Newport church. They arrived home about 9 o’clock.
