21st Sunday, - In the afternoon we went to Wootton Church. In the evening to St. Thomas's Church, Newport, we had a very pleasant walk home.

22nd Monday, - Mother and I went to Newport, we looked at Mrs Jackman's house on Coppins Bridge, but it was sadly out of repair.

23rd Tuesday, - We heard that last evening, a gentleman was robbed in Brock Copse Of 3 five pounds and a gold watch by three men one of which had a pickaxe on his shoulder.

24th Wednesday, - Mr. Fredrick Pike repaired Grandma’s pigsty in the garden. In the evening we went to the post.

25th Thursday, - Mother received a letter from Fareham, Uncle Thomas also sent for Mother to come to Ryde as Aunt was very ill. In the afternoon I drove Mother in the donkey cart to ...
