6th Tuesday - Sunday School Union tea party at Wootton Free Wesleyan Chapel. In the evening Julia and I went to Newport to change a pair of boots. Mr F.C.L. came part of the way home with us.
7th Wednesday - General Humiliation and fast day for the Indian Mutiny. I went to church in the morning and afternoon.

11th Sunday - In the afternoon Julia went to church, I did a little drawing. Mr.G.C. drank tea with us. In the evening we went to Chapel.
12th Monday -
13th Tuesday - Mr G.C. repaired the east house. In the evening we had a game of cribbage.
