26th Thursday - Opening of the “Victoria Rooms” at Ryde. Elijah was preformed in the morning at half past 2 o’clock, and miscellaneous concerts in the evening. Tickets of admission 7s 6d each time.
27th Friday - Nomination day at Newport.
28th Saturday - Polling day for the Borough of Newport. We heard in the evening that the Liberals were returned to Parliament with a majority of 59.
29th Sunday - A very wet day, Annie and I went to church, in the afternoon William came to see us.
