7th Thursday – Mr. Hearn called to see Grandma. I went to Wootton Post Office.
8th Friday – Mother came to see us.
9th Saturday – Very showery weather. In the evening Julia and I went to Newport.
We arrived home about 9 o’clock. Mr. W.W.D came part of the way home with us.
10th Sunday – A very wet day. In the evening Miss Thorne came to see us.
11th Monday – I drove mother as far as Ryde in the donkey cart. Mrs.C. Dennis
came home with me and after dinner we went into Newport – Mr. Williams opened a
new confectionary etc shop opposite The Bugle Inn last Saturday.
