13th Tuesday - The portions of Newport and Carisbrooke cemetries which had been appropriated as burial places for those of the parishioners who die in Roman Catholic faith was consecrated this morning by the Rev. Dr. Grant the Catholic Bishop of the district in the Southwark diocese. The proceeding was of most imposing character. In the afternoon Julia went with the Miss Framptons to the Roman Catholic Chapel In Pyle Street where the bishop held a confirmation at the conclusion of his labours. He left for Swainston House to dine with Sir John Simeon Bart. Julia arrived home about 9 o’clock very pleased with her days enjoyment.
